Goal of our research is the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms which underlie communication between cells of the brain, both in the adult and during development. Particular emphasis is given to the derangements in neuronal membrane trafficking which underlie neurological and psychiatric disorders. In the past several years, we have contributed a relevant body of information concerning some of the key molecules involved in these processes.
