The Pediatric Endocrine Unit of San Raffaele Scientific Institute is the center of reference for diabetes in our region and one of the leading clinics in this field in Italy. Type 1 diabetes at onset is diagnosed in 80-100 children and adolescent each year. Up to 700 patients are presently seen on a monthly basis in our Outpatient Clinic and in our database of more than 2000 patients with different forms of diabetes.
